About CoRBA – Melbourne

The Coalition of Residents & Business Associations (CoRBA – Melbourne) brings together fourteen resident and business associations across the City of Melbourne.Breaking-News

OUR GOAL IS TO BRING DEMOCRACY, EQUITABLE REPRESENTATION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE BACK TO THE CITY OF MELBOURNE

We aim to do this by:

  • Communicating to all Residents and Ratepayers within the municipality that there is an urgent need for substantial reform of the structure governing the City of Melbourne Council, and its election processes.
  • Continuing to pressure the Melbourne City Council and the State Government of Victoria to undertake an independent, objective review of the structure of City of Melbourne Council post the November 2008 elections.

Items of recent CoRBA correspondence with the City of Melbourne and the State Government may be accessed using links on the sidebar.

CoRBA is concerned about other major issues in our city, including Planning, Safety,  Transport, Sustainability and Parklands.

Given the prevailing resistance to reform leading to equitable representation, democracy and good governance in our municipality, CoRBA’S main focus remains achieving a review of the Council structure and the electoral process.
